The garden’s big show is over for another year. Time to take in the vivid fall palette of reds, oranges and golds Mother Nature graces us with each year.
“No warmth, no cheerfulness, no helpful ease, no comfortable feel in any member — no shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees, no fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds — November.” Poet Thomas Hood’s clever summary of the gloomy eleventh month. Though November does offer many delights which are the sights and scents of autumn turning to winter.
November is also time for evergreen wreaths. My neighbour has a spectacular 3-foot wreath at the front entrance that she put dried Annabelle Hydrangea blooms around as well as a beautiful urn arrangement with Annabelle. I must start dreaming up my pot arrangements soon.
